The purpose of tonight's meeting was to take one item at the golf
course to see what needed to be done and hopefully proceed to get
done. The Board had asked Tom Mitchell to be present to discuss the
work needed to be done on cart paths. Tom reported that he had
laid out the cart paths for the greens and tees and came up with
8,000 lineal feet. Phil said he had talked with several people on paving and
we would need 200 feet at each tee and green and that for the tees &
greens 1 400 tons of asphalt. The asphalt will be 6.00 a ton compacted.
With the parking areas the cost comes up to $11,600.00. This does not
include the service road and only minimum cart paths and parking(does
not include from cart building to pro shop) . City to do preparation work.
All agreed this is fair to get started as soon as possible.
Don Smith moved that we tell the Mayor that the Board is behind him and
to continue with the Golf Course to its completion where it is ready to open
and put in operation, and whatever additional funding needed will be commit
to by the Board. Stanley Fant seconded and motion carried unanimously.
Don also asked that a weekly financial report be presented to keep the Board
abreast of spending.
Phil asked if they wished to discuss kitchen fixtures for pro shop that he
had been to Mobile and gotten prices. Barney said he wished to wait until
Saturday when they met at 8:30 at the Pro Shop, he had some other ideas
on these.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
