November 8, 1963
Members present: Dr. Mull ins, Mr. Lacey, and Mr. Byrne
Minutes were read by Dr. Mullins.
Mr. Lacey noted a telephone conversation with Southern Bell
Telephone Co. concerning the lowering or buryin of tele-
phone lines on the airfield. Mr. Byrne stated heir
engineer was working on a proposal to put this line under-
ground.
Dr. Mullins suggested that a letter be sent to Mr. George
Fowler asking for his aid in securing a hangar.
Air National Guard was discussed. Mr. Lacey agreed to look
further into this and submit his findings to the Board.
Dr. Mullins signed FAA forms in compliance with Sec. 318,
Title 23 U. S. C. regarding the relationship of the Airport
to the road.
Bills from Dixie Lab. dated October 31 in the amount of
'144.12, Byrd L. Moore & Co. dated November 4 in the amount of
259.40, and Williams & Bouler Construction Co. dated November
9 in the amount of ';8,647.15, were submitted and approved by
the Board for payment.
Dr. Mullins led a discussion on Surplus Material. Mr..Byrne
gave a report of his correspondence with the Small Business
Administration.
Dr. Mullins suggested that a letter be sent to Halls Metal
Products Co. asking for a price list on hangars -- 7 - 10
thou. ft. Tee Hangars approx.
A proposal from Mr. Wiles & Mr. Keevan was read and discussed.
Dr. Mullins read a letter and questionnaire received from
Atmore Flying Service. He also reviewed Mr. Wayne Hughes
questionnaire.
The Chairman suggested that a chart be compiled showing the
`consensus of the questionnaires.
Dr. Mullins suggested that Mr. Byrne call Mr. Herndon for
information on Surplus Material. Mr. Byrne agreed to further
pursue getting a hangar for the Airport.
Dr. Mullins agreed to pursue Base Operations.
Dr. Mullins requested that a second letter be sent to the Ala-
'bama Institute of Aviation Technology in Ozark, Alabama.
Mr. Lacey outlined a letter in reply to Mr. Wiles & Mr. Keevan's
proposal.
Dr. Mullins suggested that a picture of the newly primed field
be taken and entered in the FAIRHOPE CCURIER.
