HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-31-1985 Special Meeting2 The Fairhope Recreation Board met in special session at 7:00 o'clock, PM, Fairhope Municipal Complex Conference Room, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on Wednesday, 31 July 1985. Present were Chairman Barney Shull; Boardmembers Don Smith and Al Johnson; and minutes were taken by City Clerk Evelyn Phillips. Absent were Boardmembers Rae Jackson and Roy Lloyd, and Board Secretary Betty Rivenbark. There being a quorum present, Chairman Shull called the meeting to order. The purpose of this meeting was to proceed with the Municipal Golf Course project. Mr. Shull introduced two guests: Mr. Fred Rux and Mr. Harry Dwyer. The Board held a general discussion on the next steps toward beginning construction of the Golf Course. Mr. Rux, a Golf Course Designer, and Mr. Dwyer, a Golf Pro, offered suggestions. Mr. Johnson asked that the paragraph (C-4) of the July 8, 1985, Memorandum of Agreement, about the timber be clarified concerning stumpage and burning. It was suggested that the discussions between the Board and the Developers concerning concessions be put in writing; and the discussions concerning personally - owned golf carts be put in writing. Mr. Johnson moved to approve Mr. Rux (Woolpert Consultants of Mobile) as the Course Designer. Seconded by Mr. Smith, motion passed unanimously. Mr. Johnson moved to authorize City Clerk Phillips to write a request for a Fee Proposal to Mr. Rux. Seconded by Mr. Smith, motion passed unanimously. Meeting was duly adjourned.
