HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-05-1984 Regular MeetingThe Recreation Board of the City of Fairhope, Alabama met December 5, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Complex 161 N. Section Street. Present: Chairman Barney Shull, members Al Johnson Rae Jackson, Roy Lloyd. Councilman Mike Ford was also present. The minutes of the September 19, 1984 meeting were duly approved on motion by Roy Lloyd seconded by Rae Jackson. The bills were approved on motion by Roy Lloyd seconded by Al Johnson. At this time Roy brought up the stadium contract that he thought ought to be raised to $2100 this year as the school was picking back up the 2 games they dropped last year. The budget was discussed and after all questions answered satisfactorily approved on motion by Al Johnson, seconded by Roy Lloyd. The board had gone out on bids for two sets of bleachers and at this time was discussed. Barney opened the only bid from Stadiums Unlimited submitted by Jim Davidson. the bid was as follows: 2-BL-1021 A Bleachers, 10 rows x 2110" ....$5,951.00 Al Johnson moved to accept this bid as received, Roy Lloyd seconded and motion carried unanimously. Roy moved to pay all recreation employees a $50.00 Christmas Bonus including Vandy and Joe Petties. Barney asked if there was any old business to consider. Roy aske� about the status of the recreation facility the Board was dis- cussing at Volanta Ballpark. Barney answered that the only holdup was the drawings which he had hoped to get completed as soon as possible. Roy went on to discuss the problems with the basketball program now in the schools. He also wanted the board to think about maybe making an offer to Organic School again. Al also brought up that he wanted the board to consider putting in two ticket booths at the Volanta ballpark on East -[hest sides. Discussion led to all believing this is a good idea. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
