City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street
Present: Chairman Sue Mason; members Andy Huggins, Mike Baugh, Buzz
Coiling, Bill Payne and Secretary Betty Rivenbark
A financial report was given and the minutes were duly approved as written
A report was given on the status of the Clark account(letter in file) and at this date he is
four months behind for a total of $4,367.80. A letter was sent 2/23/98 but so far he has
not paid up. Tut will be contacted again by the secretary to follow up.
Sue recognized Bing Miller from Teledyne who was here and had a list of items that
needed to be taken care of at the airport. He said the leaks in the roof were the worst.
We have been sending someone out every time he calls but the leaks just move to
another place and we haven't solved the problem. He cited leaks in the north, center
and south hangars. He said that some threshold lights have been out for some time
and need to be taken care of. They are still waiting for sewer and he said the road
where they put the sewer in is still a mess, that whoever did that work needs to do it
better. The board said it might be time to bite the bullet and see if we cannot do
something to fix the leaks permanently. Sue said she will try to get in and see the
Mayor Wednesday to see what we can do. She asked Bing how things were going and
he said well, that their goal is 5 engines a month and last month they did 7. That they
have had a steady growth. All were pleased that things going well. Mike Baugh said
he is embarrassed to be listening to the same complaints that we have heard before.
Why can't we get something going. All expressed their appreciation for Teledyne.
Sue reported that she had gotten a call from the FAA about our last pre -application and
it seems there may be some funding available in 1999 if all goes as planned. We had
submitted for land acquisition, moving runway and perimeter fencing.
There being no further business meeting was duly adjourned.
There was no meeting in May 1998
