HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-15-1983 Regular Meetingy -y ,k_c lE j,, Oty:ii-,7en The Recreation Board of the City of Fairhope met June 15, 1983 at the Police Station at 7:00 p.m. Present: Barney Shull, Chairman; members Don Smith, Roy Lloyd, Rae Jackson, and Al Johnson. Facilities Director Phil Rutherford. The minutes of the May 18, 1983 meeting were duly approved. Wanda Teague representing the Babe Ruth league said that they would like to put on a tournament July 12, 1983 at the Babe Ruth Field. The Board explained to her the deposit: necessary, she said she would take this information back to her group and get with us later. Mr. Earl Fisk came before the Board to ask what can be done to solve the problem of balls going over the fence at the trailer court and breaking windows. That his mother's window had been broken and she is elderly. A solution was talked about and finally the board offered to Mr. Fisk that they would try to get some drawings together and get back with him in two weeks time. This was agreeable with him. Mike Ford said that he had heard about a bad accident at the pool and that he wanted to see if we could fix the diving board so it would not happen again. Phil said he would take care of it. The bills were considered and and on motion by Don Smith seconded by Roy Lloyd were approved for payment. The Board discussed the fact that the bleachers had been paid for out of the operation account and that they were a capital purchase and should be paid for out of improvement account and so moved to have this transferred on motion by Don Smith seconded by Roy Lloyd. Motion carried unanimously. The Greer's bill was discussed and it was agreed that we should not be buying any supplies for Stimpson but toilet paper, and this was to be conveyed to Eddie and Charlie. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
