The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.
Minute from the meeting on January 22, 2024. we re approved.
• Discussion of taki ng o ver the le adership role of the Parking Authority
o Discusse d and voted on to move Bryan Flowers into the Chairman position of
the Parkin g Authority Committee
• Di sc ussi o n of Vacant PA position , applications received, status?
o Ongo ing outreach to the local business community to join the Committee.
• Ti me li ne on additio nal parking at Coastal
o The timeline is still TBD based on what the new President's process/vision will
b e on t h e parking area.
• Parkin g solu ti on ob jectives . Let 's agree and align moving forward .
o One way street initiative over 12-24-mont h ti me lin e
■ Begin the general discussion with Council Members and Director of
Pl anning on our vision; additional side streets off of Section (in the CBD
area) to be changed to one way street. Discussed 2-3 additional streets,
on e being Bellangee ...... any others?
o Parking Garage Usage Study
■ Utilize the summer interns.
• Chief will begin interviewing the interns (7 resumes). If needed, we will
assist in the i nterview process .
■ Set days/times throughout the week to conduct the usage study.
■ Utilize the findings for a fact-based approach to the parkin g iss ue .
• Valet
• Public Education process
• Business Owner education approach
• Other solutions to tie into this study???

New Business
o President of the Board of Directo rs for Theatre 98 at 350 Mor phy
Avenue , Fairhope , AL . made a request for a loading and unloading zone
o r a temporary loading and unloading zone that would be located on
Ch urch Street, d irectly in front of the theatre. This is needed for our
e ld erly patrons t o have easy access to the theatre's handicap ram p s.
• The Chief will conduct a drive by to determine if there is a Public Safety
issue or not. Item tabled for next meeting .
o Next meeting date : April 8 th at 8 :00 am -Fairhope History Museum
Other topics discussed:
o Parking study/usage analysis of the city performed 8-10 years ago. There was a
per parking space value attached to each-the number that has been floated is
approximately $130,000 per space.
o Ongoing visits from the Director of Planning, Mayor and Council members.
o Set short term objectives; 2-3 at the most.
o Determine long term objectives 2-3 at the most.
