HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-13-1997 Regular MeetingThe Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met Monday, January 13, 1997 at 8:00 AM at
the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street
Present: Chairman Sue Mason; members Khim Vira, Robert Colling, William Payne,
Andy Huggins. Secretary Betty Rivenbark
The minutes of the November 12, November 22, and December 16 meeting were duly
approved with one correction being noted.
Sue reported that everything was going well with the proposed lease to Childress
Farms. That there was a small change made but as soon as the lease signed we can
get going.
Papers were forwarded to Fairhope Group, L.L.C., but we have not heard back from
Mr. Grimsley since the Christmas holidays but that could also be the reason why we
have not heard from him.
Sue reported that we had received a letter from John C. Eagerton and that the state
has accepted our GPS study and it has been forwarded to the FAA for processing.
We had a letter from the FAA that asked us to state what grants we might be applying
for in the future(our dream list) and we are going to forward the form on to Barge
Waggoner to fill out and send in. Also, in this same line we have learned that in
submitting a pre -application to FAA that we can't be billed for this unless and until the
funding released so we need to go on record saying we wish to submit a pre -
application for land acquisition as this is where the funds are supposed to be available
in 1997-98 itinerary. Bill Payne moved to have Barge Waggoner prepare and submit
pre -application and Buzz Colling seconded motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Sue reported that FAA and Teledyne are still trying to resolve an issue at the airport
where the REIL lights need to be periodically checked. She asked Bill if he would go
out and talk to Tom Godfrey and report back. He said he would.
Mr. Clark was talked about and it was reported he is behind on his payments and that
our next step would be to go back to court, that he is now 5 months in arrears but Sue
has talked to Tut and he is aware of this and doing what necessary.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
