HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-13-1978 Regular MeetingFairhope Park and Recreation Board Minutes for the September 13, 1973 meeting The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met in regular session Wednesday, September 13, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama with Barney Shull, Chairman,presiding. Those present: Billy Wiggins, Stephanie Montgomery, Ed Nelson, Don Smith and Phil Rutherford, facilities director. The minutes of the August 9, 1978 meeting were read and approved as re- corded. All bills were approved for payment as funds became available. Henry Aasub was present to represent the Cammmity Minded People of Young Street... He presented a representative from Allied Alarm Systems to give a report on the cost for installing an alarm system at the Young Street Recreation Building. Henry Aasub also presented the Board with a proposed budget for the Young Street Recreation. facility, He stated that the Board members would each receive a copy for consideration for the upcoming budget. The Board conTmend•- ed Henry Aasub for the proposed budget he presented. Barney Shull reported that the Stimpson Field project had been approved.. The Board is waiting for the City Council's instructions for starting the project. It is the hope of a e Board Members that it can start on the project within a few weeks. Stephanie Montgomery is to inform the Soccer Association that it will have to f.incl other facilities for their games for the rest of the season. Several locaticnis were discussed. The Board realized it will put a hardship on the league, but feels the new project will be very beneficial in the future. The Board discussed a job description for the fall and winter Programs. Director. There followed much discussion. Tommy Springer had asked for his salary to be paid in two checks of $300.00 each, but the Board agreed to pay $200.00 a month for September, October and November. It was discussed that the Board hire a maintenance man for upkeep of all facilities. Ile would be paid year-round and work under Phil Rutherford. There was no decision made on this matter. The Board met early for a planning session to discuss the new year budget. My recommendations are as follows: PROPOSAL #1 One Local Burglar Alarm System consisting of the following: Protection of'all exterior openings, contacts on doors, One 1 F.B.I. 675 control panel One 1 Outside bell or siren Two 2 Motion Detectors Necessary wiring, furnishings, and labor. The outright sale price for this system will be $795.65, including tax. PROPOSAL #2r- One Local Burglar Alarm System consisting of the following: Protection of all exterior openings, one (1) interior door protected. One 1 F.B.I. 675 control panel.' One 1 Outside bell or siren One 1 Outside key switch One 1 Motion detector Necessary wiring, furnishings, and labor. The outright sale price for this system will be $650.61, including tax. PROPOSAL #3- One Local Burglar Alarm system consisting of the following: Protection of all exterior openings and one (1) interior door contacted. One 1 F.B.I. 675 control panel One 1 Outside key switch One 1 Outside Bell Necessary wiring, furnishings and labor. The outright sale price for this system will be $443.11, including tax,,.
