THE FAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD
Minutes for Special Meeting Sept. 29, 1976
The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met in special
session on Wednesday, September 29, 1976, at 7:00 P.M.,
at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue,
Fairhope, Alabama , with Chairman Barney L. Shull presiding.
The following members were present: Mrs. Jean Smith and
Mr. Charlie Gravat.
Members absent: Mr. David Stapleton and Stephanie Montgomery.
Also present: Programs Director Ed Nelson and Facilities
Director Phil Rutherford.
The purpose of the special called meeting was to prepare
the Recreation Boards Operating Budget for the 1977
Fiscal Year.The following budget was proposed for the 1977
Fiscal Year:
PROJECTED REVENUES:
1. Cigarette Taxes 25,000.00
2. Beer Taxes 24,000.00
3. Programs 5,000.00
4. Miscellaneous -0-
TOTAL PROJECTED REVENUES: 54,000.00

The proposed budget for the 1977 Fiscal Year will be
presented for approval at the regular October 13, 1976
meeting of the Recreation Board.
In other action, The application of Mr. Alfred Curtis Bosby
for Director of the Young Street Recreation Center was
looked over. The Board asked the Secretary to notify Mr.
Bosby to attend the October 13, 1976 meeting -of the Recreation
Board in order to interview him.
A discussion on an Assistant for Programs Director Ed Nelson
resulted in the Board deciding to seek a qualified applicant.
There being no further business to come before the Board the
meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
