Home My WebLink About10-15-1975 Regular MeetingTHE FAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD The Fairhope Park; and Recreation Board met in regular session on Wednesday, October 15, 1975, at 7:30 P.M., at the City Administration Building, 337 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama with Chairman Barney L. Shull presiding. The following members were present : Mr. Jack Stipes, Mr. David Stapleton, Mr. Charlie Gravat and Mrs. Jean Smith. Coach :John Lee, Programs Director was also pre- sent at the meeting. The minutes of the September 17, 1975 meeting were approved as recorded. The bills for the month were gone over. Member David Stapleton moved to pay all bills. The motion was seconded by Member Charlie Gravat. Motion Carried. Programs Director, Coach John Lee, presented a brief report on the various programswhich were now under way. Coach Lee brought to the Recreation Boards attention the fact that Coach Eddie Stanky and Mr. Jim Crawford were trying to coordinate baseball programs, and that: they would be meeting with the people involved in the various baseball programs in Fairhope, at the City Hall on October 17, 1975 at 7:00 P.M. The Board members stated that they hoped full cooperation from everyone involved would be given to Coach Stanky and Mr. Jim Crawford. Chairman Barney Shull presented the proposed budget of -Irs. Anna Wood, of the Young Street Recreation Program. The total amount of the proposed budget for the 1976 season being $ 890.00. No action was taken at this time. A discussion followed on the repairing of the roof at the swimming pool. It was decided that the roof should be repaired as quickly as possible. Member Charlie Gravat moved,to approve up to $ 2,300.00, for the repair of the roof at the swimming pool, with Facilities Director Cleve Crow , to get as much assistance as possible from the City. Mr. David Stapleton seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
