FAIRHOPE PARR AND RECREATION BOARD

The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met in regular session
Wednesday, June 19, 1974 at 7:30 P.M., at the City Administration
Building with the following being present: Chairman Schull, members,
Dr. Johnson, Jack Stipes, David Stapleton and Director W. C. Majors.
Members absent: Mr. Charlie Gravat.
A motion was made by Dr. Johnson, seconded by Jack Stipes that the
minutes of the previous meeting be approved as corrected. "May bills
approved for payment with the exception of Nix & Fleming bill for
$160.65, until Coach Majors finds out where the lights purchased
were used'. Also to read "that all future bills will not be approved
unless a complete list was presented to the Recreation Board."
Coach Majors reported that the bill in question was for material
and lights to be used at the Tennis Courts on Greeno Road. Bill
approved.
Motion made by David Stapleton, seconded by Dr. Johnson that the
June bills be approved with the expection of Material Sales bill,
which belongs to the Stadium Fund and the Brannan Sporting Goods
bill which belongs to the Babe Ruth League. Motion carried.
The board secretary was requested to write a letter to the Mayor
asking that the police be responsible for turning out the lights
at night at the Tennis Courts on Greeno. Mr. Stipes reported
that he had stopped at night to do this.when he found them on.
Motion made by Jack Stipes, seconded by David Stapleton that a
fund be set up for Coach Majors in the amount of $500.00. This
amount was included in the budget for the year 1973 and will be
put in the budget for 1975. Motion carried.
Being no further business to come before the board, meeting was
adjourned. ,
