Next regular meeting April 17, 1974 at :30 P.M. v a mith, Secretary Fairhope, Alabama - February 28, 1974 Fairhope Park and Recreation Board City of Fairhope Fairhope, Alabama 36532 Dear Sirs: The planning committee for the sixth annual Young Street Art Program has met and have enthusiastic plans for this summer. This committee consists of Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Powe, Mrs. Pettis, Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. Lovett, Mrs. Zuver, Mrs. Riggs and me. It is our hope to add a play- ground director and two or three additional volunteers before the program gets under way. Our itemized budget is enclosed for your consideration and approval. Since I will not be able to be present at all of the sessions this summer, we divided my duties between the others and budgeted a sti- pend for each in lieu of a salary for me. I will remain available for help and advice as much as possible, and will administer the funds if the Recreation Board so desires. As you know, in the past there has been some objection tb the use of the small room containing the pool tables for the Art Program. We again find it absolutely essential that we have the use of both rooms in the Recreation Center for the six weeks of the.program. The highlight each year has been the visit to the Eastern Shore Art Association and swimming party held on the last day of the program. Your approval of the budget, the use of the rooms and the pool is necessary before we continue with our plans. If it meets with your approval, could we please have it in writing? Tenative dates are as follows: Feb. 19 Planning committee meeting May 7 & 14 Workshops for adult leaders May 28, June 4, 11, 18, 25 Sessions for children 9-11:30 A.M. ages kindergarten through twelfth grades July 2 Trip to ESAA and swimming party We do hope some of you will see our exhibit during the Arts and Crafts Week in March.
