HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-10-1972 Regular MeetingTHE FAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met in regular ses- sion Wednesday, May 10, at 7:30 P.M., at the City Adminis- tration Building with the following present: Chairman Shull, members Stapleton, Allen and Majors. Absent, Dr. Johnson. Guests: Tommy Cotton, Butch Sheldon and Margaret Meiselback. Mr. Majors moved to approve minutes of previous meeting. Mr. Stapleton secnnded, motion carried. Motion by Mr. Majors seconded by:"Mr. Stapleton to approve bills for payment. Motion by Mr. Stapleton to approve bill of Valta Constr., Co. in:the amount of $150.00. Mr. Majors seconded, motion carried. Mrs. Meiselback approached Board with several questions per- taining to Greeno Pool. She also requested that a fire ex- tinguisher be installed at the concession stand. Board as- sured her that they would contact the fire department in re- gard to the above request. Mrs. Sheldon and Mr. Cotton of the Adult Steering Committee for the Elbow Room were heard. Their proposal was that the Recreation Board help with finances of the Elbow Room. Their request to be taken under consideration; but allowed $200.00 after discussion. The new tennis courts at Greeno Park was discussed. Operation pro ram set up as follows: Courts t be open from 8:00 A.M., to 9:00 P.M., fee to be ,'25 per hour Both registration and fees to be taken at pool site. Schedule for pool is as follows: Pool to be officially open on May 27th, hours to be from 2.30 to 7:30 P.M., and on Sun- day open from 1:30 P.M., to 5:00 P.M. Swimming lesson regis- tration to be June 5th at pool site. Motion byMr. Stapleton to set up operational fund to be drawn on by Mr. Majors and to be used at his discretion. Motion seconded by Mr. Allen. Upon being put to a vote'the*following was recorded: AHe: Mr. Shull,'Mr. Stapleton and Mr. Allen. Mr. Majors not voting and Dr. Johnson absent. There being no further business, upon motion, seconded, -and carried, meeting adjourned. Next regular meeting, June 14th.
