HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-11-1971 Regular MeetingFAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday, August 11, 1971 at the City Hall in Fairhope, Alabama. Present: Chairman Shull, members Stapleton, Johnson, majors and Burton. In the absence of the Secretary Mr. W. C. majors acted as Secretary pro tem. Minutes of previous meeting approved as written. Motion by Dr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Stapleton to approve bills for paygent. It was noted by Mr. majors that Dick Scott has been working with the Little League Football Program, also that Little League re- gistration will continue for the next two saturdays. Dr. Johnson submitted a report on Adult Tourist Recreation. The club is open each Wednesday for shuffleboard. Two teams are already playing and more are expected to join. Twenty- four chairs and three card tables have been purchased with money danated by members as memorials and are now in use. The City provided paint, ceiling tile and labor for the ladies' restroom and the result most pleasing. The Pot luck supper was well attended and enjoyed by a large group. This being date set for opening bids on football equipment, three bids were submitted. Thoss Sporting Goods, mobile, Ala., Sidney's Sporting Goods Co., mobile, Ala., and Biggs Sporting Goods, mobile, Ala., Motion was made, seconded and carried that Thoss Sporting Goods Company receive order as they were low bidder. There being no further business to come before the board , meeting adjourned.
