l FAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday April 14, 1971 at 7:30 P.M. at the City Hall with the following present: Chairman B. L. Shull, members: Dr. R. H. Johnson and Mr. David Stapleton. Directors: Mr. W. C. majors, Mr. Perry Lowery and Mr. Eddie Nelson. Guest: Mr. Dick (Scott) Preisgen. Member absent: Mr. Gordon Burton. Minutes of last regular meeting approved as written. Dr. Johnson moved to approve bills with the exception of Coastal Concrete in the amount of $87.60, which is a capital improvement to be paid out of General Fund. motion seconded by Mr. Stapleton, carried. Director W. C. majors presented salaries for 1971 program, subject to Board's approval. Motion by Mr. Stapleton, seconded by Dr. Johnson to present salary schedule with changes as suggested to City Council for their approval. motion carried. As the term of Mr. D. T. Chatwood has expired the Board re- quested the secretary to write a letter to Mr. Chatwood ex- pressing their thanks and appreciation to him for time given and a job well done. The Recreation board requested the secretary to write a letter to the City Council suggestion that the name of Mr. Dick (Scott) Preisgen be submitted to fill the expired term of Mr. Chatwood. As Mrs. Daisy Vines has submitted her letter of resignition as Director of Arts and Crafts, the name of Miss Ann Hoff was submitted.as replacement. Upon motion, seconded and carried the replacement was accepted. Care of all parks was discussed. Mr. Lowery stated that City Superintendent has suggested the use of concrete blocks for bleachers at the inside dug -outs at the ball parks. Work to begin this week. The tennis program group meeting is set for Monday April 19th at 7:30 1Y.M. The secretary was requested to write the Board of Directors of the School of Organic Education requesting use of Recrea- tion Building for the Summer Arts and Crafts Program. Upon motion by Mr. Stapl;zSmithp onded by Dr. Johnson the meeting adjourned.
