HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-06-1995 Regular MeetingThe Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met Monday, November 6, 1995
at 8:00 AM at the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street
Present: Sue Mason, Chairman; members Bill Payne,Andy Huggins,
Robert Coiling and Secretary Betty Rivenbark
The purpose of the meeting today was to discuss a letter that we had
received from the Alabama Department of Aeronautics offering to do
a study at the Fairhope Airport to test a new aircraft instrument
approach which they will do at no cost to us. This Global Positioning
Network -based instrument approach procedure will considerably improve
the accessibility of the airport. We think this is good opportunity for
the Fairhope Airport and the only one in Baldwin County. After
discussion Bill Payne moved to accept this offer. Buzz Coiling
seconded and motion carried unanimously. This to be recommended
to the Mayor for further action.
Sue reported that Wayne Smith of Barge Waggoner had called and said
that Hardee Construction had not completed the work at the airport
as per the punch list and we should not pay them their last payment.
They have done a sloppy job. This was passed on to the City Clerk.
It was asked how Clark stands. Sue reported that we have not set
a court date that she knows of. She is going to check to see they
are up to date on their payments before she leaves today.
Teledyne has not moved in yet but we are still progressing. The rain
has caused more leaks to show up and we will try to fix. Sue reported
that the new fuel tanks are in place and that the city will own them.
A bill from Tut Wynne was presented and Bill Payne moved to pay.
Seconded by Buzz Coiling motion passed unanimously. Bill was for $125.00.
Bill reported some erosion problems at the middle hangar on the back side.
Betty will see that this is passed on to right people.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
