FA I RHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD '
The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday February 11,
1970 at 7:30 P.m., at the City Hall with the following Present:
Chairman B. L. Shull, members: Dr. R. H. Johnson, Mr. Gordon
Burton, Mr. David Stapleton, Mr. D. T. Chatwood and Director
W. C. majors.
Guest: Mr. Dick Preisgen.
Motion by Mr. Chatwood to approve minutes of last regular meeting
seconded by Dr. Johnson, carried.
Motion by Mr. Burton, seconded by Mr. Stapleton to apy bills,
carried unanimously.
Chairman Shull reported on football statium, financing being the
main topic. City Council suggests two way of financing:
1. Board being allowed 1,500 reserved seats for sale on a two
to five year plan; the two year plan being $50.00 paid admission
and the five year plan being $100.00 paid admission, each being
individual purchase.
2. Changing the Recreation Board from being totally dependent
upon the general fund of the City of Fairhope and incorporating
it as a Board so that it can float bonds. No action taken.
Tennis courts were discussed. The two existing ones being repairs
and put into operation.
Mr. iPreisgen representing Babe Ruth league reported on planned ac-
tivities for spring and summer program.
Mr. Burton moved to allow $550.00 budget for kikk axkma Babe Ruth
League, Mr. Stapleton seconded, motion carried.
Mr. Burton moved to allow $80.00 for wages to have work done at tt
Young Street park. Mr. Chatwood seconded, motion carried.
Mr. Burton moved to allow $20.00 to pay officials for the men's
basketball program. Dr. Johnson seconded, motion carried.
There being no further busihoss, meeting adjourned.
