The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wdnesday, December 10,
1969 at 7:30 P.M., at the City Hall with the following present:
Chairman Barney Shull, Members: Dr. R. H. Johnson, Mr. D. T. Chat -
wood, Mr. Gordon Burton, Mr. David Stapleton. Director Majors.
Mrs. Welker and Mrs. Lindsey represented the Adult Tourist Club.
Motion by Mr. Burton to approve minutes of last regular meetingv
seconded by Dr. Johnson, carried.
Motion by Dr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Stapleton to pay bills,
carried unanimously.
Mrs. Welkerl and Mr. Lindsey presented Board with a complete finan-
cial report. After discussion, Mr. Burton moved to authorize
$2,400.00 budget of which $500.00 had previously been authorized
and received by Tourist Club; remaining $lp900.00 to be paid in
$500.00 installments and $400.00 to represent final payment for
year.
Director Majors presented Board with a check in the amount of
$529.68 which represents profit from football concession. All -
Star admission was $117.35.
Motion byyMr. Chatwood to authorize Director Majors to continue
with mowing and cutting away brush at Greeno Park, around pool
area, Young Street Park and Stimpson Field. Bill to be paid as
Director Majors presents it. Motion seconded by Dr. Johnson,
carried unanimously. Coach Majors to reimburse Donnie Keith,
Farmers Club.
Mons basketball program was discussed by Director Majors who an-
nounced that there will be no mens league unless action is taken
by January 6th.
Motion by Dr. Johnson to approve basketball program as it may be
presented; budget to be same as last year. Motion seconded by Mr..
Chatwood, carried.
Little League Basketball will consist of four teams, ranging in
ages ten through twelve. Motion by Mr. Burton to allow $250.00
for their program. Mr. Stapleton seconded, motion carried .
Upon request of Mayor Macon, Mr. Burton moved to set aside $300.00
toward girls recreation program. Dr. Johnson seconded, motion
carried.
There being no further business, meeting adjourned.
