HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-13-1969 Regular MeetingFAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday, August 13, 1969 at 7:30 P.m., at the City Hall with the following present: Chairman B. L. Shull, members: Dr. R. H. Johnson, Mr. D. T. Chat - wood, Mr. Gordon Burton. Directors W. C. majors and Perry Lowery Absent: David Stapleton. Mr. Burton moved to approve minutes of last regular meeting. Dr. Johnson seconded, motion carried. Mr. Burton moved to pay bills, Dr. Johnson seconded, motion car- ried. Dr. Johnson presented Board with a stop watch which was given by Mrs. Louis B. Umlauf in memory of her husband. Secretary was in- structed to write letter of thanks. Mr. Shull infomred board that plans for tennis courts at Greeno Palk will be presented at next regular meeting. This being date set for opening bids on football equipment, the following were received: Thoss Spotting Goods...........e.$l,l04.00 Brannan Sporting Goods..........41,301.00 Brannon without helments. Mr. Burton moved to accept low bid of Thoss Sporting Goods. Mr. Chatwood seconded, mobihbncarried unanimously. Mr. Shull gave a report of the progress in acquiring the Municipal Golf Course. Young Street Park swimming pool discussed, same to be completed before before the season ends providing the weather doesn't inter- fere.
