HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-12-1969 Regular MeetingFAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday, march 12, 1969 at 7:30 P.M., at the City Hall with the following present: Chairman Shull, members: Johnson, Chatwood, Burton and Stapleton. Directors: majors and Lowery. Guest: Mrs. Daisy Vines. Mr. Burton moved to approve minutes of Special and Last Regular mei ing. Mr. Chatwood Seconded, Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Burton moved to pay bills, Mr. Chatwood seconded, motion carrif Mrs. Vines, Director of Creative Arts program presented her plans for next season which is to begin June 6th and continue through July 9th. She also displayed some of the work done by the childrer who participated; reporting that some 118 young people participate( Motion by Mr. Burton to allow Mrs. Vines $50.00 for expenses, plus $8.00 which represents expenditures for which she was not reimburse from last years program. Wages to be same as last year. Dr. Johnson seconded motion, carried unanimously. Secretary was instructed to write letter to School of Organic Education requesting use of building for Creative Arts Program. Coach Majors reported that pine-pong tables and three basketballs had been supplied Young Street Center. Ir. Chatwood moved that Assistant Director Lowery receive bids on summer baseball and softball equipment. Mr. Stapletion seconded, notion carried. r. Chatwood moved to obtain bids on reel type mower. Dr. Johnson econded, motion carried. r. Burton moved that Park and Recreation Board co-operate with chool and Agriculture Department for use of tractor and equipment or which use $325.00 will be paid.
