IFAIRHOPE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD
The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday, February 12,
1969 at 7:30 p.m., at City Hall. members present: Chairman Shull,
Mr. Stipes, Mr. Chatwood, Dr. Johnson and Mr. Burton. Directors
(majors and Lowery.
Guest: Councilman Cowen
Mr. Buton moved to approve minutes of previous meeting as recorded.
Mr. Johnson seconded, motion carried.
Dr. Johnson moved to pay bills, Mr. Burton seconded, motion carrie4.
Director Majors was instructed to receive bids on new rapid-flo
tank system filter for pool, along with installation costs; bids
to be presented to City Council at their next regular meeting on
February 249 1969.
Mr. Burton moved to purchase fifty gallons of paint and ten gallo
thinner for pool, Mr. Stipes seconded, motion carried.
Little League and Babe Ruth insurance discussed, tabled until next
regular meeting.
Mr!. Burton -moved to purchase fertilizer for ball fields, Mr. Stipe.-
seconded, motion carried.
Roof on restroom at ball park being in a bad xv state of repair
was discussed; same to be repaired before season begins.
Board to present to City Council their suggestions for Young Stree
Center, also Stimpson field.
Mr. Burton moved to accept recommendation of City Council concerni g
JCoaches Appreciation Day banquest. Mr. Chatwood seconded, motion
carried.
Mr. Burton moved to furnish material to Mr. Robert W. Wayne, membe
of Lyon's Club to erect ornamental marker at Fairhope Municipal Pa k.
Motion seconded by Mr. Stipes, carried.
Mr. Burton moved to table request of Miss Simmons to become part
lof Recreation Board summer Program until further information can
be obtained.
Upon motion, duly seconded, meeting adjourned.
