The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday, November 13,
1968 at 7s30 p.m., at the City Hall. The following were presents
Chairman Shull, members Burton, Johnson, Chatwood and Stipes.
Directors majors and Lowery.
Guestss Henry Crawford, Jr., Fred Pace and Charles Tate.
Mr. Burton moved to approve minutes of last meeting. Dr. Johnson
seconded, motion carried.
Dr. Johnson moved to pay bills, Mr. Stipes seconded, motion carrisi
Improvement to Young Street Recreation Canter discussed. Mr. Shull
reported that City Council had accepted plans as presented.
Mr. Stipes reported that Halloween parties had been a success and
that approximately 450 young people were in attendance.
Tiny mite Football banquet will be at the Armory on the night of
December Tth, ending season.
Mr. Pace requested that Recreation Board help to sponsor four
basketball teams and ask for use of gymnasium on each Wednesday
when not in use, and on Monday nights.
Mr. Stipes moved that Recreation Board participate in basketball
program, a minimum of four teams receiving $50.00 each or a maximui
of $200.00. Dr. Johnson seconded, motion carried unanimously.
Secretary was directed to contact Adult Tourist Recreation for
their annual budget.
Upon motion, seconded and carried, meeting adjourned.
