HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-28-1995 Regular MeetingThe Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met Wednesday, June 28, 1995 for a special meeting at 5:00 PM to consider the lease proposal of Teledyne Continental Motors to start operating a business at the airport. Present: Chairman Sue Mason; members Robert Coiling, Andy Huggins, Khim Vira, Mike Baugh, Bill Payne, Jeanette Puckett. Secretary Betty Rivenbark Mrs. Mason opened the meeting saying that there was a great deal of telephoning between Teledyne and the City but we think everything is worked out. She briefly went over events leading up to lease that is before the board members today. She said Tut is aware of what has been presented and has no problem with it, nor does she. It has also been reviewed by the Mayor and at tonight's council meeting they plan to act on the airport board's recommendation. A motion was made by Mike Baugh, after discussion was put on the floor, that in consideration of recent ADEM ruling that we approve temporarily suspending in the minimum standards of FBO's the requirement washing airplanes at the airport until such time the proper environmental arrangements have been made. Bill Payne seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The chair made a motion to recommend approval of the lease of Teledyne Continental of facilities at the airport for a period of 90-180 days in order to start a business there and at the end of that time(or sooner if permit from ADEM received) they will take over the complete FBO operation at the airport. They will pay $3500 a month now and $7,000 a month when they take over the FBO. This lease to run for 2 years with renewable options(copy in file). Mike Baugh 2nd and motion carried unanimously. They are having trouble with ADEM over getting their permit to sell gasoline at the airport, but, she reported that as soon as they get their permit they will take over full FBO services, until that time we will run the FBO services and receive all monies that we collect. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
