The Fairhope Park and Recreation Board met Wednesday, June 14,
1967 at 7:30 p.m., with the following presents Chairman Shull,
members Burton, Chatwood, Stipes, and Johnson. Recreation di-
rectors Chaches majors and Lowery. City Superintendent, Mr. Kitk
was also present.
Mrs Burton moved minutes of previous meeting be approved. Mr.
Stipes seconded, motion carried.
Mr. Burton moved bills be paid, Mr. Stipes seconded, motion carried
Dr. Johnson moved to allow $500#00 to Adult Tourist and Recreation
summer program, said sum to be paid in four equal installments of
$125.00 each, first payment being May, 1967. Mr. Chatwood seconded,
motion carried.
Coach majors reported to board on all phases of recreation program
of which he is director. Swimming classes consist of two hundred
twelve students. There are twenty seven enrolled in Driver Edu-
cation.
Mrs Kirk reported on beach area, stating that pads had been poured
for five cabana type picbic tables. He also reported on restroom
facilities, dressing rooms, showers at pool site; that Linden
Const,Tuction Company had beg ', nday t June 12.
Work is continuing on Young Street Recreation center.
Paving of ball park and pool area was discussed.
There being no further business, motion by Dr. Johnson, seconded
by Mrs Chatwood that meeting adjourn. - .%/
