HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-11-1967 Regular MeetingFAIRHOPE RECREATION BOARD The Fairhope Recreation Board met January at City Hall with the following present: Chairman Shull, members Stipes, Chatwood, Coach majors, Mr. Kirk and Mr. Belew were Minutes of previous meeting were approved. 11, 1967 at 7:30 p.m., Burton and Johnson. also present. Mr. Burton moved bills be approved with the exception of Fairhope Single Tax Corporation in the amount of $536.80 which is one-half yearly rent on Stimpson Field. Mr. Chatwood seconded, motion car- ried. Mr. Burton moved that Chairman Shull meet with the City Council to recommend that arrangements be made with Fairhope Single Tax Corporation to assess Stimpson Field as park_area, tax free; to relieve the Recreation Board of same. Mr. Chatwood seconded, motion carried. This being date to open bids on rest room building at ball park, the following bid was received: Sam Bru)jfield Construction Company Painting roof framing and concrete block $2,276.00 $ 200.00 There being no other bids, Mr. Burton moved that bid not be ac- cepted. Mr. Stipes seconded,, motion carried. Mr. Burton moved to authorize Mr. Kirk to proceed with constructioi of rest room building according to.plans and specifications, using hired labor. Dr. Johnson seconded, motion carried. Mr. Belew gave a resume of activities of midget football team whicf he coaches, receiving sanction from the board to proceed with present activities, but to report all plans to the board for their approval. Upon motion, duly seconded, meeting adjourned.
