November 99 1966
The Fairhope Recreation Board met in a regular session November 9,
1966, at 7:30 p.m. Members presdnt: Chairman Shull, members
Johnson, Stipes, Burton, Chatwood, and Coaches Majors and Lowry.
City Superintendent, Mr. Kirk.
Mr. Burton moved minutes of previous meeting be approved as
written. Mr. Stipes seconded, motion carried.
Dr. Johnson moved bills be paid with the exception of Nix and
Fleming in the amounts of $4.62 and $11.34. Motion seconded by
Mr. Burton.
Mr. Burton discussed Adult Tourist Recreation accounts (spread
sheet), which was turned over to Board by Mrs. Welker.
Plans for parking area, bleachers, concession stand, rest -rooms,
dug -outs at ball park to be discussed at next regular meeting.
Lighting, clearing of mmx out trees and digging out for bases
was discussed with Mr. Kirk. Mr. Kirk reported that poles have
been set and tamped, wiring to be completed by early March.
Motion by Mr. Stipes, seconded by Dr. Johnson that City Clerk
deposit remainder of loan from city funds into Recreation Board
Account. Motion carried.
Mr. Stipes moved to authorize City Clerk to make refund payments
in the amount of $200,00 each out of Recreation Board Account
into Gas Department. Payments to begin January lst. Mr. Burton
seconded. Motion carried.
Coaches Majors and Lowry discussed Little League Baseball unifor
and equipment, stock on hand and stock needed.
Mr. Stipes reported that approximately four -hundred people had
attended 1ze Banquet.
Mr. Kirk reported that electric equipment for Young Street
Recreation Center would cost $163.00, bringing total expendeture
to $698.00 to date.
Mr. Burton moved Coaches Majors and Lowry be allowed $300.00
for Winter Recreation Program. Dr. Johnson seconded,motion carri

Secretary was instructed to write letter of appreciation to the
Methodist's Men's Club, thanking them for chaperoning Halloween
Dance and Rxty at Armory.
Dr. Johnson moved to adjourn, Mr: Burton conded. Motion carri
