FROM The Reoreation Board
Gentleaent
The current summer recreation season In past the halfway
mark, and It is now time to plan for the coming season.
Toward this end we are sending a letter to you for your
thought and comment.
Pirstp we have had some engineering plans and specifications
prepared for certain items to be developed at the Greeno Park
site. However, due to sanitary disposal problems, these are
being held in abeyance* ftcther, it appears that this site
any not be readily available for development at this time
due to limited funds* It seems that suitable dressing and
rest room facilities are too oostly in addition to parking
areas and operational. expenses. In view of these faots, It
might be to the advantage of the City to negotiate with a
private foundation for the swimming pool facilities and its
adjacent land.
Second* it is time now to initiate development of additional
lighted ballfields and unlighted football fields. This we
would like to do at the Greeno Park site on that portion of
the area not directly adjacent to the swung pool. In
Parts our plans would be to do the ground work this summer
so that the field can be ready by next summer. In the same
area we would like to proceed with the driveways and parking
area.
All of these developments would be dependent upon the future
dispositional plans that the Council might have for the Greeno
Park area.
Please let as have your comments at the earliest opportunity.
