AIRPORT BOARD
September 13, 1963
Members present: Dr. Mullins, Mr. Lacey, and Mr. Byrne.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Dr. Mullins and Mr. Byrne noted their meeting on September 9
for the approval of current bills. It was further noted that
these bills were approved by the City Council at their meeting
also on September 9.
Mr. Byrne noted a second application to FAA for funds and a
first application to the State for funds.
,Dr. Mullins suggested that a letter be sent to the County
requesting their funds (a copy of the FAA's Grant Payment to
accompany ltr. for their reference.
Dr. Mullins noted than an access road has been cut to the
Airport and that base has been put on it. This was done by
a combination of City and County for us. County did about 75%
of the job.
He also noted a booklet received from FAA outlining a procedure
for obtaining surplus material.
A letter from the American Air Mail Society was discussed by
Mr. Byrne and Dr. Mullins. After brief remarks this item was
tabled.
Mr. Lacey discussed the Dedication program for the Airport.
,�ZHe suggested that a Civic organization be delegated for this
purpose.
Dr. Mullins suggested sending questionnaires to area airports,
airplane owners, pilots and various businesses concerning our
airport's operation. /t was agreed that such forms would be
sent.
The meeting was adjourned.
