Absent: None.
Visitors: I:ayor Iacon, Councilmen Gaston, Stapes, Reynolds and
Stine, 11r. C. B. Niemeyer, ::r. George won, and ','x.
Harry Anderson.
Chairman Poser dispensed with the reading of the minutes.
I:r. Poser declared the purpose of the meeting was to obtain
recommendations from the Council concerning the function of the
Recreation Board.
Park Equipment was discussed. Kr. Niemeyer suggested building
wooden tables and benches instead of concrete.
A general discussion of the Board's usage of funds followed.
Necessary expenses resulting from construction of the Swimming
Pool and forthcoming Little League field were also discussed.
Nr. Na.con suggested that the appointment of an additional member
to the Board to fill the vacancy of Irving Xamper be held for
further study by the Council.
I:r. Cotten moved, i.ir. Wakefield seconded, to allocate up to
:;50.00 to the Junior Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of
purchasing a plaque in connection with "Sarge Turner Day." :Motion
carried.
I,:r. Wakefield moved, :•:r. Bailey seconded, that the Recreation
Board purchase materials for lining the high school tennis courts;
high school to furnish labor, :Motion carried.
Kr. Poser suggested that grading and seeding on the proposed
Little League field be started. at an early date.
It was duly moved and seconded thlt the meeting a4;ourn.
