Members present: Mr. Poser, Wakefield, Kamper, Cotten, Bailey,
Schneider
Members absent: None
Guests: Mr. Anderson and Mr. Byrne
Minutes of April 10, 1964 meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Anderson's Report:
1. Supplies for Adult Program - The Board agreed to supply
one (1) new ball per game and any additional to be purchased at
their own expense.
2. Insurance - Mr. Bailey moved, Mr. Wakefield seconded,
that it be mandatory for each child to purchase insurance before
he is allowed to play -- Recreation Board will underwrite any
amount in excess of $1.50 per individual for this year. Motion
carried unanimously.
3. Traffic problem at Mershon intersection - Referred to
Police Chief for recommendation.
4. Paying Officials - Mr. Cotten moved, Mr. Kamper seconded,
to pay officials 2.00 for each 5 inning game and $3.00 for each
7 inning game - excluding men's baseball games. Carried.
5. Lighting Little League Field - Mr. Anderson agreed to
contact Mr. Kirk for an estimate of cost to light a new field on
municipal park property.
6. Little League Field fence - Mr. Anderson suggested wire
reinforcement for protection of same.
7. Summer Staff - Mr. Kamper moved, Mr. Bailey seconded,
to approve salaries and staff as presented by Mr. Anderson, a
copy of which is attached to these minutes. Carried.
Chairman Poser discussed the proposed new Swimming Pool for the
Municipal Park Property.
Mr. Bailey moved, Mr. Wakefield seconded, to obtain a firm
construction figure for swimming pool. Motion carried unanimously.
8. Uniforms - Mr. Anderson agreed to obtain fixed prices
on cost per uniform and total cost for all needed uniforms.
Mr. Schneider discussed Colored Restroom facilities. Mr. Kamper
agreed to further look into this for a possible solution.
Meeting adjourned until Monday, May 11, 1964 at 4:30 P. M.
