Members present: Mr. Wakefield, Kamper, Cotten & Bailey. Mr. Poser
arriving late.
Guests: Mr. Harry D. Anderson, Mr. Joe Schneider, and Mr. Pete Byrne
Mr. Byrne was appointed chairman in the absence of Mr. Poser.
The minutes of the December 2, 1963 combined meeting were read and
approved as read.
Mr. Anderson submitted his report to the Board. The items discussed
were:
(1) Football - very successful season and recommen-
dation that it be con int" ued.
Mr. Poser arrived at this time and assumed his duties as Chairman.
(2) _Bg_seeb_a_ll fields - City to take care of skinning
and surfacing. An officialLittle Zeague Field was discussed. Mr.
Cotten and Mr. Bailey suggested that the new property be started on.
Mr. Anderson agreed to find out the approximate cost and feasibility
of this field and make recommendations at the next meeting.
(4) Chime k sheet for Summer Program - Mr. Cotten
agreed to print 1000 cards TTFa-77s z�f Summer activities for
presentation to the High School and Grammar School students.
(3) _High S pool_ Tennis _C�rts - Mr. Schneider reported
that the sub -contractor -for Williams & Bouler Construction Company
would do the job as weather permits.
(5) DD'rector to begin locating Summer

Mr. Anderson stated t h following figures as proposed salaries for the
Summer Program:

Mr. Bailey moved, Mr. Wakefield seconded authorizingg_�Mr. Anderson to
start securing personnel at a total cost of ';4,000.00. Carried.
Mr. Bailey discussed the Colored Program and advanced the idea of a
swimming poolo in the Colored Park. Mr. Anderson agreed to discuss the
idea wish the principal f the Anna T. Jeanes School.
Mr. Schneider suggested that �500.00 be donated to the Daphne Colored
School for band uniforms.
Mr. Bailey moved, !`fir. Cotten seconded to appropriate §500.00 to the
County Board of Education with instructions to be used for band
uniforms at Colored School in Daphne. Carried.
Mr. Poser discussed the formation of a Building Board consisting of
Mr. Alton Schermer, Mr. Bill Ruffles, and Mr. Harry Anderson as a first
step in the Municipal Building Program.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
