The Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met Monday, September 12, 1994
at 8:00 AM at the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street.
Present: Chairman Sue Mason; members Andy Huggins, Jeanette Puckett,
Robert Colling, Khim Vera, Bill Payne
The minutes of the August meeting were duly approved as written and
a financial statement was given.
The board considered an application of Prestige Air owned by Elizabeth
Dunkel who wishes to start a charter business at the Fairhope Airport.
Ms. Dunkel had talked previously with Ms. Mason and had submitted
a letter in which she states she flies for 3 weeks with Mr. Daniel Walters
but the other week she would be available to charter. She proposes
to pay $250 a month rental and has asked for a break on her fuel if
she buys more than 200 gallons per month & pay $1.75 per gallon.
She would start 9/15/94 to pay rent. She is living in Daphne and
has a beeper so she would be available when needed. She submitted
insurance papers and references. Discussion with Ms. Dunkel led to
a motion by Bill Payne to allow her charter service to operate at the
Fairhope Municipal Airport. Khim Vera seconded and motion carried
unanimously.
Sue related that we are still going well on the grant. She had talked
to an FAA representative in Atlanta last week about the DBE goals but
everything had been worked out. There is a bid opening September 15
at 10:00 AM at City Hall for contract services regarding the grant.
Sue related the other calls she had gotten regarding renting space at
the Airport and said that Rohr possibly might want to rent back the
big building for offices and storage as they are suppose to become a
distribution for QEC's.
Sue also reported that Tut Wynne is suppose to be filing papers today
on the City's case against Clark Aviation.
A bill was presented for $170.00 from Tut Wynne for services. It was
approved for payment.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
