HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-12-1994 Regular MeetingThe Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met Wednesday, May 12, 1994 at 8:00 AM at the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street. Present: Chairman Sue Mason, members Jeanette Puckett, Mike Baugh, Andy Huggins, Robert Colling, William Payne, Khim Vera The minutes were approved as written and a financial report was given. Ms. Mason said the purpose of the meeting today was to review the status of actions last month. She mentioned that our attorney, Tut Wynne, had not filed the papers on May 10 as he was suppose to do. Ms. Mason related her and Buzz Colling's visit to the airport and what they had found when they were there. Ms. Mason said that if/when the attorney files we will be calling the lease in default, calling 'the note(which will be due and payable immediately) That he is in arrears at least $17,000 and will be $25,000 by end of the month. We could place criminal charges if we so desire. We are also asking for injunctive relief from the court. Sue further said that she had been contacted by a group from Mobile who wanted to move to Fairhope and had put in a bid before under the name East Bay. The board questioned whether or not we would have to bid out the FBO operation. Sue said no. Mike Baugh questioned the timetable on all of this. Sue outlined the procedure that would be followed and that the process included a 30 day remedy process. He can pay and proceed with business as usual. It was brought up again about bidding out the FBO and Sue asked if the board wished to bid it? It was the consensus of the board to look and see after we've gone through the process facing us. Not looking forward to the bid process. Sue also reported she has 2 entities interested in renting the samll hangars and that the FAA is still on tap on our grant, that the legislation on the money has not been passed yet. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
