Monday, December 11, 2023
Present: Chad Bartz, Mandy Bezeredi, Morgan Slay, Bryan Flowers, Chris Shrader, Mayor Sherry
Sullivan, Stephanie Hollinghead/City liaison
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.
Minutes from the meeting on October 30, 2023, were approved.
• Welcome Chris Shrader, the newest member of the committee.
• Mayor Sullivan discussed with the committee the new contract involving Little Whiskey,
rebranded as My Place. Moving forward, if there are any changes the deck will be removed, and
all parties are aware of the agreement.
• Chief Hollinghead confirmed that Morgan Slay will be the one to sign the contract on behalf of
the Parking Authority. A motion was made by Mandy Bezeredi to move forward with the
contract, Morgan Slay 2nd the motion. Motion passed.
• Morgan Slay confirmed he had the bi-laws and said he would forward them to everyone on the
Parking Authority.
• Morgan Slay confirmed the resignation of Beth Fugard from the Parking Authority. This officially
leaves an open position.
• There is an open position now on the Parking Authority Committee.
• The authority discussed having a work session at the next meeting. The city will provide maps of
the CBD with all available parking.
• Discussion of the possibility of using a student internship through the police department to help
with research to resolve parking issues.
• Chief Hollinghead will contact the Planning Department and obtain maps with marked parking
spots for the Authority to review prior to the next meeting.
• Discuss expanding advertisement with the opening of the new alleyway to include the parking
garage.
• Mandy Bezeredi updated on the future parking site on Coastal Campus. Plans are still in progress
and have not been finalized with the new President.
• Improve advertising through social media outlets and city publications.
• Discussion of the possibility of adding a valet system to use with the parking garage.
• Discussion of using apps to indicate where parking spots are available.
• Discussion of talking with churches to use their parking lots for additional parking.
• Next meeting set for January 22, 2024. Location: Coastal Community College. Plan for a 2-hour
work session.
