HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-16-1992 Planning Commission MinutesThe Planning & Zoning Commission met Monday, March 16, 1992 at 4:00 p.m. at the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street Present: Richard Sanderson (Chairman); members Cindy McBrearty, William Richmond, Maxwell Killoch, Jeanette Puckett, Tim Kant (late arriving) Mr. Sanderson noted before meeting began that we have planning jurisdiction 5 miles outside the City limits, but that we have no zoning jurisdiction. The only interest the Commission has is that the subddivision regulations are met. He said that we can listen to any comments that are made, but that we can only make decisions in areas that apply to the Commission. The minutes of the February 4, 1992 meeting were approved on motion by Cindy Mc Brearty, seconded by Jeanette Puckett and unanimously carried. IMr. Sanderson noted the Katherine Burmeister property (30+ acres) Iwas being presented for zoning concurrent with annexation. Bob Lunsford pointed out the zoning change request from R-5 to R-2 single family residential. A motion was made to recommend approva. to City Council by Cindy McBrearty, seconded by Maxwell Killoch, motion carried unanimously. DeVere acres was presented for preliminary approval. The excessiv( length of cul-de-sac was waived by the Commission. Cecil Ward and Engineer Ack Moore requested waiver of concrete curb and gutter so as to return more surface water to the ground. After discussion this request was denied by Commission; However, it was decided thai roll type rather than barrier type curb and gutter would be permitted. Ack Moore presented that easements of required width are being presented on plat. Mr. Moore also presented that gate valve is being shown on plans for installation at connection to existing water main. General discussion led to the question being asked of Mr. Ward as to the number of mobile homes proposed to be placed on each lot. His response was that one and only one mobile home would be allowed per lot and that this would be an element of the restrictive covenants being developed for DeVere Acres. Motion was made by Maxwell Killoch, seconded by William Richmond to grant preliminary plat approval to Unit One of DeVere acres conditioned upon the foregoing, upon all signatures and acknowledgements appearing on the plat and review by the County Engineer, as per staff recommendation. There was no one present at this meeting to present application for Silverwood Subdivision. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned. 4
