HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-06-1987 Regular MeetingThe Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Fairhope met April 6, 1987 at 5:00 P.M. at the City Municipal Complex, 161 N. Section Street, Fairhope Alabama. Present: Maxwell Killoch, Chairman; members Jeanette Puckett, Tim Kant, James P. Nix, Cindy McBrearty, William Lucey, Richard Sanderson The minutes of the March 2, 1987 meeting were approved as written on motion by William Lucey, seconded by James P. Nix and unanimously carried. Ack Moore was present representing the Corte application of Corte Office Park. The first unit consisted of 12 parcels. The road running through the development is called Plantation Blvd. it also showed a road Julia Lane running into Edwards Ave. This drawing showed a temporary cul-de-sac until property owned by Fred Corte is further developed, but Julio is dedica- ting half of right of way required. Bob had asked for a vicinity map, graphic scale and a note providing for screening. James P. Nix moved that subject to these items being provided giving preliminary approval, William Lucey seconded and motion carried unanimously. Bob brought to the Commission's attention a situation of the Dodd family where they wished to divide one piece of property into two, property located outside the city limits. Bob recommended since this comes under the attorney general' s ruling that it does not come -under the subdivision regulations. William Lucey so moved, Cindy McBrearty seconded and motion carried unanimously . Under new business, Richard Sanderson brought up the amendments he wished to make to the zoning ordinance, additions being uses permitted on appeal in an "R" district. And in M-1 district adds under prohibited uses a new wording --- Residential structures, hospitals and other institutions for the care of humans, mobile home parks, slaughter houses stockyards, bag cleaning - - - Bob had also highlighted some changes in Section 8.10 Remedies. Mayor Nix reminded Commission that a public hearing would have to be held on these proposed changes, Mr. Sanderson said that Bob's changes could be incorporated into what he has worked up as a proposed ordinance. William Lucey moved to have the public hearing, James P. Nix seconded and motion carried unanimously. Cindy reported that work was still ongoing on the sign and landscaping sub -committees. That they are meeting weekly in an effort to get something to present to the Commission. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
