HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-17-1991 Regular MeetingJ The City of Fairhope Airport Board met Tuesday, December 17, 1991 at 8:00 A.M. at which time quotes on a FBO operation at the Municipal Airport were to be opened. Present: Chairman Sue Mason, members Jeanette Puckett, Andy Huggins, Mike Baugh, Buzz Coiling. There were a total of eight responses received. Two offered no quotes: Echelon Services and Hawthorne. One offered a quote on part of the facility: Coastal. Two failed to meet the quote specifications by not submitting any financial documents: Global and East Bay. Of the three complete quotes received from Read Industries, Clark Aviation, and Fair - hope Flying Service, based on experience in the aviation industry, there were two viable proposals: Read and Clark. Taking both quotes at face value, and assuming that all plans and proposals are realistic and achievable, the Board was of the opinion that Read Industries offered the most long-term benefits in income, job creation and services to the City of Fairhope and recommended that Read Industries be awarded the lease contained in the quote package with a personal guaranty from Mr. Stephen Read. If the Council chooses to consider another quoter, we recommend Clark Aviation be awarded the lease with personal guaranty by principal The Chairman had opened the meeting by thanking each for being here owners. and that the way she would handle the quotes was to open each one read any letter submitted, state the quote on each item asked for ( Number of jobs, employees, rent, etc. ) and then she would ask the visitors to leave and the board would consider each quote in depth before making a recommendation to the City Council. After each quote was opened and read she asked if any board member had any questions, there were none and the visitors were asked to leave. After all left but the board members the quotes were reviewed with the results being what stated above.
