HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-09-1983 Special MeetingThe Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Fairhope met September 9, 1983 for a special meeting to answer a question of improper use and parking problems at Commercial Park Present: Roy White, Chairman; members John Parker Robert Mason, Mary Doug Foreman, Cindy McBrearty, Jack Kirk Harrell Holder, Cecil Pitman,J.P. Nix and Bob Lunsford Z.E.O. Mr. Lunsford was asked to share with the Commission and Mr. Dial and Mr. Huddleston what his findings were regarding whether or not businesses at Commercial Park were being improperly used and the parking was inadequate for businesses there. He remarked that based on the representation in the letters from the businesses located in Commercial Park: Romac, Gulf Coast Seafood, Miller Diving he arrived at the required number of parking spaces as 25. That they were now dificient 13. He also provided a solution which he showed by drawing where 12 more parking spaces could be made and he also allowed in shelled area for parking of large 18 wheel vehicle the seafood business uses. Mr. Roberds remarked to Commission that this plan had been offered by him before and he was agreeable to constructing parking lot as Mr. Lunsford is now suggesting. Mr. Pitman asked when this could be completed. Mr. Roberds remarked within 30 days. It was noted that there was adequate landscaping with other arrangements now there. After Mr. Dial 's questions about matter were answered, Harrel: Holder remarked that Bob had done an excellent job of solving parking problem, and moved that we accept the plan as presented and Bob continue to police the area for any other violations. Robert Mason seconded and motion carried unanimously . Meeting was duly adjourned.
