met August 2, 1982 at the City Administration Building
387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama at 5:00 P.M.
Those present: Cecil Pitman, Cindy McBrearty
James P. Nix, John Parker, Dick Sanderson,
Harrell Holder, Jack Kirk
The minutes of the July 19, 1982 meeting were duly approved
on motion by James P. Nix, seconded by Jack Kirk and unan-
imously carried.
Buddy Richmond addressed the Board on behalf of Fritz
Crane. He stated that they wished to develop 78 units
but not use Greeno Road as egress/ingress. That they
would enter off Fairhope Avenue. John Parker remarked
that there is a 50 ft. easement running from Fairhope
Avenue, kd&& he wish to make that a dedicated right-of-way

He is asking for relief from this requirement. 'If h installs

units. He was told that the Planning & Zoning Commission
did not have the authority to waive this requirement.
He would have to plan within the requirements of the
zoning ordinance. There being no further discussion
Mr. Richmond left.
Richard Sanderson brought to the Commission's attention
an article appearing in the Eastern Shore Courier about
hearings to be held in the fall for countywide planning
and zoning. He remarked that if this was true that we needed
to have input now into this planning and zoning before it
came to public hearings. Further discussion led to',.,Mr. Nix adv:
- ing the best thing to do is wait and see what develops.
In the light of Pierce Frederick's time running out on the
Commission, John Parker brought up that we needed to consider
a new chairman and further moved to pursue election of same.
Harrell Holder seconded and motion carried unanimously.
Cindy McBrearty nominated Dick Sanderson, John Parker seconded
nomination, there were no further nominations, and Mr. Sander-
son accepted. John Parker moved to elect Dick Sanderson
Chairman, Cecil Pitman seconded and motion carried unanimously
At this time a discussion followed on the merits of yard
signs for candidates. It was consensus of Commission that
they wished to go on record opposing the use of these signs
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
