HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-03-1980 Regular MeetingII III The Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Fairhope met at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Ala- bama on November 3, 1980 at 5:00 p.m. Those present were Leona Newman, Chairman; Pierce Frederick, Roy White, J.P. Nix, Jack Kirk, Harold Holder, Ted Bennett The minutes,of the October 6, 1980 meeting were duly approved. Sheryl Waters came forward to speak on the rezone request from Mack Waters to change from R.2 Medium Density Single Family Residential District to B.4 Business and Professional Offices the property located between Miller and Barclay Streets fronting on Section Street. She said they wished to build a C.P.A. firm in this location. J.P. Nix moved to accept for advertising this rezone request, Jack Kirk seconded and motion carried unanimously. Mr. Paul Perfect spoke to the Commission on behalf of the building permit being sought by the Boy Scouts of America. He remarked that this would be located at the Southeast Corner of Section Street and Morphy Avenue. Mr. Pruitt had remarked that a building permit is in order and Mr. Lunsford said he saw no problems. Roy White moved to approve issuance of said permit, Harold Holder seconded and motion carried unanimously. The preliminary approval of Twin Echo Subdivision was discussed at this time. Mrs. Newman was advised of the meeting with the City Council and the Planning Commission, and also of Mr. Moore's working on a drainage plan and problem areas. Mr. Nix remarked that there were plans to have a detention pond in the Gulley in the future which may help with the downstream problems. Mr. Pruitt said that Mr. Pope had met all the requirements in his layout. Mr. Nix moved based on Mr. Pruitt's recommendations that preliminary approval be given. Roy White seconded and motion was unanimously carried. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned on motion by Jack Kirk, seconded by J.P. Nix. Approved_ Chairman
