The Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met Monday, August 12,
1991 at 8:00 A.M. at the City Administration Building, 161 N.
Section Street
Present: Chairman Sue Mason, members Robert Coiling, Andy
Huggins, Mike Baugh, Jeanette Puckett
Tut Wynne, the City Attorney, was present today to discuss with
the board the problems we have been experiencing with the current
FBO Fairhope Aero. He had been asked to come today after review-
ing the current lease. It was conveyed to Mr. Wynne that they
are currently behind in their rent for June, July and we still have
not received a certificate of insurance, which was promised in June.
This in itself makes them in default of the lease agreement. Mr.
Wynne pointed out that the bank can, if he defaults with them,
put someone out at the airport to run it so it would be -to our
advantage to try and work with the bank. All agreed that they
would wish to do so. Mr. Wynne went through the procedure
of what he would do in notifying lessee they are in default -
send a letter, if he comes in with rent and insurance we have option
to accept/not accept at that time, then we could send eviction notice
after period of time in letter elapsed. Further discussion led to
Board on motion by Mike Baugh, seconded by Andy Huggins to send
letter notifying them they are in default and proceed according to
action as recommended by counsel subject to City Council approval.
Motion carried unanimously.
The status of Mr. Douglas was discussed. He has not applied for
a license or submitted any plans or sought any permits. Discussion
led to taking a wait and see attitude at this time.
The minutes of the last meeting were duly approved as written on
motion by Robert Coiling, seconded by Jeanette Puckett and unan-
imously carried.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
