TH RHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION The Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission met in regular session Monday April 7, 19?59 at the City Administration Building , 387 Fairhope Avenue , Fairhope Alabama, with Chairman John Parker presiding. The following members were present: Mayor James P. Nix; Mr. Jack Kirk; Mr, Chester Billie; Mr. Harford Field; Mr. Cecil Pitman; and Mr. Ray Gibson. Members Absent: Dr. Pierce Fredrick and Councilman Barney Shull. The minutes of the Special meeting on March 17th, 1975 were approved. The application of Mr. R.G. " Rudy " Rosenquist for a change in zoning from R-2 Single Family District to R-3 Multiple Family District was presented. Discussion followed in which several property owners stated that they were not in favor of the zoning change. After giving due consideration to all involved the motion was made by Mr. Harford Field, seconded by Mr. Ray Gibson, that the Commission recommend denial to the City Council, of Mr. R.G. Rosenquist's application for rezoning. Motion Carried. The application of Robert M. Green for an amendment to the Zoning Regulations to establish a Residential or Nursery Zone District was presented. Mayor James P. Nix moved to defer Mr. Green's request until proper zoning i has been established. Mr. Harford Fields seconded the motion. Motion Carried. C+� THE FAIRHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION The application of Mr. Byrd L. Moore for a vacation of a 25 feet street right-ot-way shown on the recorded plat of a Greenwood Park Subdivision was presented. Mr. Ray Gibson moved to approve Mr. Moore's request and recommend to The City Council the vacation of the street right-of-way; with a retention of easement. Motion was seconded by Mr. Cecil Pitman. Motion carried. The application of Mr. Matt P. Dial, Jr. for a Pre- liminary Plat approval of a resubdivision of.Lot 1 of the South Division of North 1/2 of the northeast 1/4 of section 17, township 6 South, Range 2 East; located at the Southwest Corner of Gayfer Street and Blue Island Street was presented. Mr. Harford Field moved to approve Mr. Dial's application for resubdivision with the 1. Sewer Line must be built before the Final Plat is signed . and /C-Z- _2- That Mr. Dial sign a performance bond. Mayor James P. Nix seconded the motion. Motion Carried, Mr. Robert Dade and Mr. Morgan presented to the Commission their intentions of a proposed Sub -Division. The Commission asked Mr. Robert Dade to make a decision regarding replating of ovinership and come back with plan of replatted land for approval.' Mr. John Parker presented to the Commission the letter dated March 199 1975.from Forsman's Realty. Mayor James P. Nix made the motion that providing the Commission receives proper Plans for Resubdivislon the Commission will give prelimenary approval for Mr. Forsman and Mr. Rickarby for Resubdivision. Mr. Harford Field se©onded the motion. Motion Carried. Y - CA IRHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION J 4 Member Ray Gibson made a motion seconded by Mr. Harford Fields that the hour of meeting of the Commission from the present 5:00 P.M. be ohangt.d to 7:00 P.M.. Motion Died. The Commission continued their review of the revised Zoning Ordinenoe. The Commission requested Mr. Don Pruitt to make needed changes and present the ordinenoe back to the Commission for final adoption. Discussion followed of a Joint public hearing with the City Council who will have to approve the ordinenoe.
