HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-05-2017 Planning Commission MinutesJune 5, 2017 Planning Commission Minutes The Planning Commission met Monday, June 5, 2017 at 5:00 PM at the City Municipal Complex, 161 N. Section Street in the Council Chambers. Present: Lee Turner, Chairperson; George Roberds, Vice-Chair; Richard Peterson; Rebecca Bryant; Jimmy Conyers; Ralph Thayer; Hollie MacKellar; David Martin; Wayne Dyess, Planning Director; Nancy Milford, Planner; Buford _ King, Planner; Emily Boyett, Secretary; and Ken Watson, City Attorney Absent: Charles Johnson Chairman Turner called the meeting to order at 5:01 PM and announced the meeting is being recorded. The minutes of the May 1, 2017 meeting were considered and Ralph Thayer moved to accept the minutes as written and was 2nd by David Martin. The motion carried with abstentions by Jimmy Conyers and George Roberds. UR 17.01 Request of Mediacom for an 11.52.11 Utility Review and approval of the proposed underground installation of approximately 4,650 linear feet of CATV cable. The project will run throughout Song Grove Subdivision. Ms. Milford gave the staff report saying the entire project shall be directionally bored; no trenching is allowed. There are 7 road bores and 28 pedestals proposed. Pedestal locations will follow existing power/phone lines. Staff recommendation is to approve with the following conditions: 1) The applicant shall follow the general comments related to utility work, as stated above. 2) All mechanical and locator equipment shall be painted munsell green. Jimmy Conyers 2nd the motion and the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Peterson stated concerns with the sewer laterals being bored into during the installation. Mrs. MacKellar stated most the homes in this subdivision have grinder pumps. Mr. Dyess introduced Buford King and announced he is the new Planner. Having no further business, Jimmy Conyers made a motion to adjourn. David Martin 2nd the motion and the motion caiTi animously. The meeting was adjourned at 5:06 PM. 1
