The Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission met on Thursday, June
13,.1974 at the Firemen's Hall for fish dinner and study session
with all members present.
Mr. Pruitt, Planning Consultant, presented for discussion, 'Land
Use Plan and Environmental Assessment which is part of the overall
Comprehensive Plan prepared by South Alabama Regional Planning
Commission. After a study of the Land Use Plan and Environmental
Assessment, Mr. Field moved, seoonded by Mr. Nix that with the
changes made at this meeting the Commission approve all segments
of,the Comprehensive Plan and Map. Motion carried.
When Comprehensive Plan has been completed the Commission requests
that a copy be forwarded to Mr. Tom Johnson of the Baldwin County
Industrial Development Board.
Commission requested that they go on record as being in favor of
subdivision regulations outside the City Limits.
It was agreed that various members of the Commission write up
different segments of the Community Development Plan for a series
of artioles to be published. Mr. John Parker to outline series,
Mr. Ray Gibson, a study of the Population, Mr, Cecil Pitman,
Economy and Mr. Harford Field, Existing Land Use Plan and Proposed
Land Use Plan.
Motion by Mayor Nix seoonded by Mr. Field that the Chairman of the
Commission oontaot Governor Wallace with the Commission's desire
to have Greeno Road updated and made regular Highway 98. Motion
carried.
The Building Inspector presented plans of Hardees with request for
building permit. Motion made by Mr. Gibson seconded by Mr. Frederick
that the Building Inspector be authorized to issue permit provided
plan meets specifications, set back lines, eto. The Chairman of the
Commission stated that the Commission had not had an opportunity
to study the application and requested that action be deferred until
the regular meeting of the Commission on July 1, 1974• Mr. Gibson
then withdrew his motion and Mr. Frederick withdrew his motion.
Action to be taken at the regular meeting on July 1, 1974•
Meeting adjourned.
