HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-21-1963 Regular MeetingAIRPORT BOARD June 21, 1963 Members present: Mr. Lacey, Dr. Mullins, and Mr. Byrne. Mr. Lacey called Mr. T. J. Klumpp to find out about airport owners in the area. Mr. Byrne read the minutes. Mr. Lacey moved that the minutes be approved as read. It was seconded, and carried. Dr. Mullins noted that the Project Application had been sent off. Dr. Mullins discussed Mr. Rickarby's changes in the contract of B,Ird L. Moore & Company. Mr. Lacey read the contract aloud, and made the following alterations: (1) ,Article 5 to be changed as follows: "The Fairhope Airport Board at its dis- cretion may terminate this contract upon thirty days written notice at any time provided however, that the engineer shall be paid 3;j as provided herein for all work completed by the contractor r1rior to termination as provided in article 5 herein. Mr. Byrne and Dr. Mullins agreed. (2) Paragraph 7 be deleted entirely. It was unanimously agreed upon. Dr. Mullins stated that in the event the contract for 'testing is not negotiated with Dixie Laboratories the ,:oard ai l l Fay for the testing. Dr. llullins asked about the tree cutting. Mr. Lacey said the trees were too little to be worth cutting. Dr. Mullins asked about the base oppera tor. f: r. Lacey commented -that Mr. Klum-p thought T hangers would be better for the new airport. Dr. Mullins derived that actually no steps had been taken concerning the base operator. Mr. By rne e said the bond for Dr. Mullins from Mr. Huffman would-be ready by Monday, June 24, 1963. The Board commented on designs for the new stationery. Mr. Byrne said he would get samples from Mr. Poser so that the Board could choose the design they want. Mr. Byrne sugggested an ad in the 4.0. P.A. would be good publicity. f1r. Lacey commented that the Flying Farmers have their conclave in Foley, and that it would be good for the Board to look into. Dr. flull ins also talked about the Flying Physicians and other businessmen who fly. Mr. Lacey informed Dr. Mullins thzt six (6) companies had stated they would bid on thq airport.
