HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-06-1971 Regular and Public MeetingFA I RHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION The Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission, Regular and Public meeting,Fmonday, December 6, 1971 at 5:00 P.M., City Hall. Present: Chairman Parker, members, Box, Gates, Macon, Bung, Arnold and Frederick. Absent: Members Pitman, Kirk. Visitors: Mr. Corte, Pope, Maury and Harmon Stearns who is new Building Inspector. Public Hearing: Application of Louise P. Maury to rezone from R-2 to R-3, the North 85 feet of East 571 of lot 3 and North 85 feet of Lot 4, Block 13, Division 4, Fairhope Single Tax Corporation lands as per plat filed September 13, 1911; located on Southwest corner of School and Equality Streets. No opposition present. Motion by Mr. Gates, Seconded by Mr. Bund that the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission ,recommend''to the City Council the rezoning from R-2 to R-3 as requested by Louise P. Maury. Motion carried.unanimously. Mr. Dan Corte of Corte and Thomas presented plat of Fairwood #16 for preliminary approval, stating that all corrections and/or changes had been made. Motion by Mr. Gates, seconded by Mr. Box that preliminary approval be given to Fairwood #16 S/D. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Corte then explained lots 251 and 241, Fairwood #16 fronting on Park Drive had improvements required such as paving and utili- ties but that building permits normally could not be issued on lots in an unapproved Subdivision. Motion by Mr. -Macon, seconded by Mr. Arnold that the building inspector be authorized to issue building permits on lots 251 and 241 Fairwood #16 after the Planning Commission has received a letter from the developers definitely agreeing that no other application for building permits will be made until all im- provements requested have been completed at the developer's ex- pense. Motion carried unanimously. It was decided th?t regular January meeting will be postponed to January 17th at which time Public Hearing on Subdivision re- qulations will be held.
