The minutes of the June 20, 1990 meeting were considered and duly approved
as written.
The minimum standards for fixed base operators was discussed and the Chairman
pointed out that this was presented to the Council June 25, but tabled as they
did not have time to study them before the meeting, but it is on the agenda for
tonight, July 9, 1990 meeting.
The chairman reported the letter she had written to Mr. Douglas, his subsequent
telephone call to her and response that all discussion would be held at a regular
meeting if he wished to attend.(he did not come)
At this time the chairman recognized M.L. Aust consulting engineer for the
AIP Project 3-01-0029-01-83 at the Fairhope Municipal Airport. He presented
to the board a bill for his services for $2,845.75 with a breakdown of charges,
and also a synopsis of the Spitzer dealings for the new members of the board
(copy in file) leading up to this point. Robert Coiling moved to pay the bill
as presented, Andy Huggins seconded and motion carried unanimously.
M.L. mentioned to the board that there had been some discussion with Mason
McGowin, the past chairman about some work on the lower ramp that would not
pertain to this project, that it will still need to be done at some date in time
and he would talk to the board about it.
Under old business a financial status report was given by the secretary and
discussion led to the chairman appointing Mr. Coiling to talk with Fairhope Aero
about their method of handling the ramp space rent that is submitted supposedly
on a regular basis and report back next month.
Buzz Coiling mentioned at this time that he felt that some sort of fire protection
system should be looked into at the airport. All felt that it should be something
to be considering and discussed at a later date. Further discussion led to men-
tion of planned zoning for the property surrounding the airport and what we need
to do, also to be discussed at a later date.
There being no further business meeting was duly adjourned.
