Regular and. Public Meeting Ilon., Jan.4, 1971!

Present: Chmn Parkerig members Gates, Macon, Box, Pitman, Arnold,
Bung, Frederick, Kirk.
Visitors: Mr. Earle, Odom, Mrs. Robinson
Minutes of previous meeting approved as read.
OLd Business
Public hearing on application of Charles Earle, Jr. as agent for
Mrs. Irene Stewart, to rezone from R-2 to B-1, lots 179 189 199209
block 15, according to map of Volants filed for record in Misc. Bk
1, page 3419 Probate Records of Baldwin County, property located
at 506 N. Section Street. Mr. Earle explained projected use of
existing building as office and storeroom for manufacturer"s agent
of commercial filters. Mrs. Robinson, owner of nearby property
questioned uses allowable in B-1 district.
2) Mr, Cecil Pitman vequested final approval on Park Terrace
Unit 3. He pointed out that he had complied with all relevant
Wx±xtxx � items in Mr. Bateman's letter dated 2/4/70 and pre-
sented sptic tank approval from C. K. Zehner.
Decisions
Motion by Mr. Arn&ld., seconed by Mr. Box, that fimal approval
be given Cecil Pitman subdivision Park Terrace Untt 3. Motion zar
carried.
Mo9tion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Macon, that the Fairhope
Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council
that in the Earle rezoning application only lots 17 and 18, block
15, Vola to be rezoned from R-2 to B-1, with lots 19 and 20,block
15, rem Aning In the R-2 classification; and that the applicant
be requested to give careful consideration to the use of Perdido
Avenue for ingress and egress. Motion carried. unanimously.
Chairman opened discussion on the neglect of the Planning duties
of the commission. He read letter from planning consultant to
mayor outlining studies that shoud be made and the cost of same.
Copy of letter will be sent to all members with request for in-
dividual opinion on need and feasibility of studies.
There being no further business meeting a djourned.
