City HaLl Present: Chairman Parker, members Macon, Pitman, Box, Gates, Bung, Frederick Absent: Members Kirk, Arnold Visitors: Mr. Brock, Cummings, Dial, Dyson. Purpose of meeting: Consideration of Matt Dial rezoning re- quest as affected by submittal of revised plot plan Chairman read letter sent to Mr. Dial on NOv. 10, 19709 out- lining changes requested in original plot plan shown commis- sion on Nov. 2. He then distributed new drawings prepared by Mr. Bateman for Mr. Cummings, prospective developer of Dial property. Mr. Cummings stated that he and his associates had met with Mr. Bateman and, were impressed so favorably with his design that , with the deletion of the swimming pool shown, they wished to submit it as their plot plan. Following discussion, motion 'by Pir. Pitman, seconded by Mr. Macon, that the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commssion recom- mend to the City Council the rezoning from R-2 to A-3 lots 4,5,6,19,20,21, bloc 12,Volanta, approval being granted by the Commission on pise that points in the letter dated 11/10/70 from the Commission to Mr. Dial and the plot plan, with the exception of the swimming pool, submitted to the Commission on Nov. 16, 1970 generally are followed in the construction of the apartments. ROBERTSON On the matter of your application to rezone from R-2 to R-3 lots 4, 5, 6, 19, 20, and 21, Block 12, Vo-, lanta, the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission at their meeting on November 2nd decided to hold their ap- proval in abeyance. However, they were favorable to the rezoning if -che following objections could be met: 1. K better garbage collection access and ar- ra ngem.el.r . 2. Adequate width sidewalk space with separation from .-Iirking spaces. 3. Natural visual barrier along east property line for the 380 feet to protect single family lots from rear of ap,_rt,nent buildings.
